For this fundraiser exhibition we invited artists from around the country to donate a work that would be sold to support educational programming in the museum. Each artist was sent a 5”x5” square of paper and a postage paid return mailer.

The works we received are wonderful and diverse! We are grateful for those artists who voluntarily gave of their time and work to make this show a success.

All of the works in this exhibition are for sale by auction on this web site. Proceeds from the sale of the works go directly to educational programming in the museum. We have provided short bios, but encourage our buyers to visit artist’s websites to learn more. *

* Biographies and artwork media are based on best available information.

How the Auction Works:

Artworks in this exhibition are available for sale through the museum web site via an easy auction format. (There will be a computer available for bidding in the museum.) When you are ready to place a bid, you will be prompted to fill out a short form to create a user profile, with a user name, and password that you can use each time you wish to bid or check the status of an artwork. Westmont students, faculty, and staff should use their email login and password to place bids.

Estimated values have been provided for each work; you will also find a minimum first bid. Your bid can exceed the high estimated value. The minimum bidding increment for all works is 5 dollars. You have the option of bidding in two ways: you can enter the maximum amount you are willing to pay for a work, and the site will bid on your behalf in 5 dollar increments up to your maximum, or you may bid manually in small increments throughout the course of the exhibition.

The auction will begin at 4 p.m. on Wednesday, November 30. Assuming there are no technical difficulties, bidding will end on December 16th at 5 p.m. If the system is overwhelmed during the final minutes of the auction, the museum cannot be held responsible for lost bids.

We encourage you to bid early and bid often!

When the auction has ended, you will be notified of the items you have bought and receive an invoice via e-mail for your purchases. You can pay for your artwork using cash, credit card, check, cashiers check, or money order. Please remember that your bid is an obligation to complete your purchase. We cannot change bids once they have been entered, so bid carefully. All sales are final. Any unsold works will be returned to the artist.

Five Easy Steps to Bidding:

1. Find a piece you are interested in buying.

2. Click the “Bid” button.

3. Fill out a short profile and create a user name and password. Save this information so you can log back in to keep bidding later in the exhibition. (Westmont students, faculty, and staff should use their Westmont e-mail login and password to place bids.)

4. You may enter the maximum amount you are willing to pay for an item and we will automatically bid on your behalf in 5 dollar increments up to your maximum bid. Or, you can bid in smaller increments and check back throughout the exhibition to see if you are still in the lead or want to keep bidding.

5. Login at any time to see if you are still on your way to owning your treasure!

Receiving your Work:

Works can be picked up in person or sent to you in the mail. There is a $3 postage fee for each work that is mailed. Works that are mailed will be packed and shipped directly to you in a cardboard mailer, with insurance and delivery confirmation.

To pick up your purchase in person, please come by the museum during regular office hours at your earliest convenience. The museum office is open 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on weekdays. We will be closed December 22 through January 1, reopening January 2. Works picked up after January 6th will incur storage fees. The museum reserves the right to release buyer’s name and address to the artist of purchased works.

Framing:

For a limited time we are offering specialty custom framing of these unique works. All works will be framed using our standard museum wood molding and archival framing materials, including acid free matting and UV filtering acrylic. Frames measure 10” square and you can choose semi-gloss black or natural light wood tone. Works will be framed either floating or matted, as the work dictates. The cost for this custom framing is $150, including shipping if needed.

A limited number of frames are ready for a seven-day turn-around, available on a first come first serve basis. All other orders will require a 2-4 week turn around.
